Protecting South Africa’s future in the first 1,000 days.

Our Mission

Nutrition today. Potential for a lifetime.

Raise a Life. Raise a Nation. is a national preventive nutrition initiative dedicated to eradicating childhood stunting across vulnerable communities in South Africa. By intervening during the critical first 1,000 days of life, we provide the foundational nutritional support that children need to thrive physically and cognitively. Our focus is children aged six to 23 months, when the right nutritional intervention can help protect healthy growth and development and strengthen the foundations of a child’s future.

Why preventative nutrition matters

Stunting can’t be cured. But it can be prevented.

Childhood stunting is more than a health challenge. It can affect brain development, learning capacity, health and future earning potential — holding back children, communities and the nation.

How the Programme Works

A focused intervention, built to reach children where it matters most.

01

Targeted Delivery

Lipid-based nutrient supplements, medium quantity (LNS-MQ), are provided directly to children aged six to 23 months in high-need communities.

02

Robust Distribution

Established logistics and Early Childhood Development channels help ensure reliable, transparent delivery through trusted community infrastructure.

03

Outcome Measurement

Pilot cohorts and partner ECD centres are continuously monitored to track delivery, compliance and key child health markers.

Our Governance & Structure

Built for accountability. Designed for scale.

Raise a Life. Raise a Nation. brings together specialised nutritional manufacturing expertise and established supply-chain infrastructure to deliver a scalable, accountable intervention model.
